LOLP is following these steps to reduce our impact on the natural environment!
• LOLP is the first law firm in Nevada to meet or exceed the ABA/EPA’s Law Office Climate Challenge.
• LOLP has created partnerships with the following EPA organizations:
- LOLP is a member of Co-op America Green Business Network
- LOLP has developed and adheres to a Green Check List. This list includes the following:
Printing essential documents only
Printing double sided
Recycle whatever possible
Dispose of Household Hazardous Waste properly e.g. electronics, florescent light bulbs, batteries
Use biodegradable cleaning products
Purchase recycled or recyclable products e.g. 100% post consumer office paper
Email correspondence whenever possible
Reuse products such as silverware as opposed to disposable utensils and plates
Turn lights off in rooms that are unoccupied
Unplug all possible appliances after each use
Set computers and monitors to sleep after ten minutes
Turn computers off at the end of the work day
Setting Energystar programmable thermostat to moderate temperatures to reduce heating and air conditioning system usage
Walking / Biking to work whenever possible
- LOLP purchases energy credits to offset our power consumption and business travel, thus generating an equal amount of green energy to what we consume
- LOLP has made efforts to purchase locally grown / built products
- LOLP chooses to patronize vendors who share our values
Community Service
Lara Pearson believes that it is important to give back to the communities in which she lives, plays and makes her living. Lara frequently lectures at various events and for local and national organizations and associations regarding intellectual property.
Lara's volunteer activities include: sitting on the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Committee of the International Trademark Association; acting as CLE co-chair of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the State Bar of Nevada; serving as the Secretary of the Board of Directors of 1% for the Planet® and on the Advisory Board of Rock the Earth®; acting as a lawyer for the Law Library in Washoe County; and by providing pro-bono intellectual property legal services to: 1% For The Planet, Rock the Earth, HeadCount, Conservation Value and the Tahoe Rim Trail.
